Barbara Jackins is an attorney in Lexington, Massachusetts and the parent of an adult son with special needs. She focuses on areas of the law that affect people with disabilities and their families, including special needs planning, public benefits, and guardianship. Barbara has written several books on disability-related topics, most recently: Legal Planning for Special Needs in Massachusetts: A Family Guide to SSJ, Guardianship, and Estate Planning (2023), as well as Managing a Special Needs Trust: A Guide for Trustees (coauthor, 2019); and Moving Out: A Family Guide to Residential Planning for Adults with Disabilities (coauthor with Dafia Krouk-Gordon, 2013).
