The Lexington SEPAC is the Special Education Parent Advisory Council. All school districts are required by law to have a parent advisory council to advise the public schools on the education and safety of students with disabilities. School officials are mandated to meet regularly with SEPAC parent representatives to participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of school programs. | The LexSEPTA, the Lexington Special Education PTA, supports LexSEPAC, offering parents a way of connecting with one another, valuable speaker events and workshops and also social gatherings with other parents, the school committee and more. LexSEPTA is a 501(c) volunteer-run organization. Find out how to Join Today |
Being a member connects you to a wealth of information, and to other parents, who can support you in navigating the world of special education and accommodation plans in the Lexington Public schools.
The LexSEPAC meets every other month during the school year. The business meetings are public, dates are posted on the Town calendar, and are open to all to attend. Meeting minutes are publicly posted following each meeting.
The scope of the LexSEPAC is focused on school or program specific issues, the group advocates on behalf of parents and shares concerns and questions directly with the LPS administration.
If you are unable to attend but have some feedback to share, please email presidents@lexsepta.org
